India’s second largest technical fest , Cognizance is a perfect blend of learning and fun ,inculcating an unfettered spirit of learning, exploration, rationality and enterprise for the betterment of the society. It is home to over 150 events, encompassing almost every possible aspect of technical education. Attracting gargantuan participation from across the country and witnessing a record footfall of over 40000 , IIT Roorkee has been successful in spreading cognizance across the nation and has made sizeable contribution in developing novel technologies and harnessing it for the welfare of mankind. Cognizance is a plethora of events ranging from illuminating workshops, elucidative guest lectures ,edifying exhibitions to exhilarating contests. In keeping with the tradition, Cognizance 2010 shoulders the responsibility of “Technovating India” transforming it into a first world country.
Cognizance is the second technical fest in India to have acquired an ISO 9001:2009 certificate and as a recognition for developing environment-efficient sustainable technologies it was certified as the only carbon neutral festival of its kind.It has also seen the likes of Dr H.C.Verma, Dr John C.Mather, Dr. James Sylvester Gates, Padmabhushan Dr. Yashpal Sharma and other dignitaries, who have shared their valuable experience with the young future of the nation.This year’s Cognizance promises to be bigger and better, with brand new events which take competition to a whole new level. Be it the model Copenhagen Summit or Blogomania, Cognizance with its innovative events has always managed to awe inspire students over the years.
