What is Antya… another Search Engine?  Back to top
Antya is a simplified search engine. It strives to get you that one result that you’re looking for. The way it does it is simple. It not only searches for the query, but all related terms that belong in its ecosystem.

For example, a search for “home delivery” will identify its ecosystem and give you the best food options available with the ‘home delivery’ facility.

Is it another keyword search engine?  Back to top
You can't really avoid a 'key'word, can you?

The point is a keyword search engine model isn’t that scalable. You start with a single query, then double it, then triple it, adding all sorts of advanced search parameters such as putting it within quotes, etc. Antya needs a starting point. From there on, you are in the discovery mode. Bon Voyage!

What does the word ‘Antya’ mean? Back to top

'Antya' means 'what exists at the end' – the end result.

Historically speaking, the word Antya figures in the ancient Indian numbering system. It is equal to 10^21 much in the Google tradition (Google comes from Googol which is 10^100) which we assure is a mere coincidence.

'Antya' also figures in Indian mythology. In the epic, Ramayana, the name is mentioned when the army general Sugreev explains to Lord Ram how his army was organized. It wasn't uncommon for ancient Indian legionaries to have names like Antya. Today, Antya is used as a name in many countries including Germany and Indonesia.

Why Antya?  Back to top
Thousands of websites remain undiscoverable because of complex search algorithms. There is a strong need of a search platform that enables people and businesses to showcase their products without doling out thousands in Search Engine Optimization.

Why do I need Antya when I have Google?  Back to top
Google is a great & powerful search engine. Its mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. Ours is to bank on user wisdom to organize the information better than any supercomputer could do.

Who is Antya for… what's your target audience?  Back to top
Antya has been designed with the following users in mind:
1. New User: A first timer looking for information on the web. A web search engine may be slightly complicated for this user. User wisdom (comments, blogs, ratings, etc.) will also aid decision making.
2. User on the move: An advanced user with no time to investigate wanting quick, reliable, information on the web.
3. Competitors: Many a times a company wants to know new entrants in its fray, and their popularity among the users. Companies may also want to top-up on the offer that the nearest competitor may be promising its users.
4. Businesses, Brands: Businesses & brands having a virtual presence but being rendered indiscoverable due to complex search engine algorithms. They have just 10 slots to capture user mind.

Please note, Antya is not for information searches, as it currently does not crawl the web at this time.

How do you plan to get the information? Humanly feed the entire web?  Back to top
Antya aims to organize the web with the participation of the user community. To that effect, its closest cousin would be Wikipedia.

So is Antya another Wikipedia?  Back to top
Far from it, Wikipedia accumulates wealth of information. Antya revolves around a user, his quest to get the best that is out there.

A user’s ecosystem of search queries is usually not above 500.  Beyond that you need to discover, not search. We are just mapping user needs. And to do that, we have hundreds of volunteers who are users themselves.

Is your model scalable?  Back to top
We believe in the JS model – just share

How much time did it take to develop this site?  Back to top
From ideation to implementation, let's say two months. Read more about it in Idea Behind.

Okay! I get it. Antya is a search engine for User Generated Content (UGC).  Back to top
Antya is a User Created Content website. You may call it the new-age Web Directory.

Why are you showing only one result per query?  Back to top
For every query that you fire on a search engine, there is one result that you’re looking for. To arrive at it, you may sift through 1000s of options that a search engine may throw up. Antya strives to get you that ‘one’ result.  That’s the wow factor!

But in case, we are shocking you, instead of wow-ing you;), do let us know at feedback@antya.com

Just show one result. You mean, you won’t even give me options? Back to top
We can’t do that! On the contrary, Antya gives you plenty of options, more than any other conventional search engine could do on a particular page. Getting one result is actually a misconception. We expand one result, and keep the rest of its ecosystem above the fold to let you make the choice.

I pity you guys. You’re not getting anywhere with such gimmicky stuff.  Back to top
That’s what we thought.

Is Antya limited to one country? Back to top
Antya has no limits.

How can I add a website to Antya? Back to top
Just click on the link Add to Antya at the top-right menu of the home page.

What stops me from copying your model? Back to top
Nothing! Let us know how we might help you. Our sole aim is to make brands and businesses discoverable to users.

I don’t have a website. Why don’t you allow me to add my information? Back to top
Antya wishes to take users to the destination – your website – where the user can have a look & feel of your product & services. This, Antya believes, is a far richer experience than showing plain, boring texts as its search results.

Also, having just your listings will mean you will have to come to our website to update your details every time there is a change, whereas, Antya will keep checking your site for any updates.

Are there certain kinds of sites that you don’t allow? Back to top
Yes. As with any other website, we have a social responsibility towards our users. Before entering any website on Antya, kindly view our Content Policy.
